Sven Co-Op Central has decided to embrace 7Zip for the simple fact it is far superior to many Archive formats. On average 7s Files will be between 10% to 40% smaller than those in a Zip file (set on maximum) and normally 2% to 10% smaller than rar. 7Zip although mainly a Windows program works on nearly all Microsoft operating systems, it is completly Open Source so no annoying shareware adverts and it can open a large amount of archives including zip and rar's!
This makes it easier for us to distribute since it now uses less of our bandwidth and hard drive space. This also means our downloads should now be faster, since everything has been repacked older zips you should now just unpack the 7s straight to your half life directory.
To Unpack files: Right Click the 7s file Click Extract Files... Put the path to your half life folder into the Extract to box Click OK Sit back and wait for it to unpack.
